2026 AGM Update

CPSM Council News

CPSM’s annual general meeting was held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Below is a summary of the meeting.

  1. Minutes from the June 25, 2025 AGM were approved.
  2. The audited financial statements for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2025 and ending April 30, 2026, were approved.
  3. Registrants approved the appointment of BDO Canada LLP as auditors for the 2026/2027 fiscal year as recommended by the Finance, Audit, and Risk Management Committee. BDO is in the third year of a 5-year agreement with CPSM as external auditors and completed the audit for this fiscal year ending April 30, 2026.
  4. In accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act, all Bylaw amendments approved by Council in the past fiscal year must be confirmed or varied by the registrants present and voting at the AGM. The following bylaws were amended in this fiscal year:

Multiple sections were amended to reflect the new Electoral Districts, nomination process, the creation of the Councillor Profile, and the Elections Committee.

Prior to 2023, the Central Standards Bylaw was updated and two sections were removed. Corresponding edits were not made to the references of those sections. Sections 10, 11, 12, 18, 21, 22, and 24 were revised to correct this issue.

5. 2026 Elections

Council elections were held from April 16 to May 5 for two Rural District seats, one Winnipeg District seat, and one Regulated Associate Member.

The following have been elected to Council:

Rural District Council (four-year term)

There were seven nominations for two Rural District Council seats.

Dr. Lisa Monkman, who will serve a second term on Council, and Dr. Nicole Vosters were elected.

 

Winnipeg District Council (four-year term)

There were three nominations for one Winnipeg Electoral District Council seat. Dr. Rafiq Andani was elected.

 

Regulated Associate Registrant Council (one-year term)

There were seven nominations for two Rural District Council seats. Dr. Yasaman Yazdizadeh was elected.

All four Councillors began their term on June 24, immediately following the AGM.
