Notice of Council Election
As a self-regulating profession, CPSM’s Council plays a vital role in setting and guiding our organizational strategic direction.
Your voice and leadership can impact Council priorities, decisions, and actions and shape the future of the profession in Manitoba. Every two years, seats on Council become vacant and must be filled.
This year there are two Councillor positions that will be open for elections:
- One seat in the East Electoral District (byelection for a one-year term)
- One Regulated Associate Member seat (annual election for a one-year term)
Council comprises nine CPSM physicians, including one Regulated Associate Member representative, one U of M representative, the President, President-Elect, and Past-President and six public representatives.

If your primary practice location is in the East Electoral District or if you are an Associate member (medical student, resident, clinical assistant, physician assistant, or physician assistant student), you will receive a Notice of Election, voter's list, nomination form and procedures by email on March 18.
The deadline for nominations is April 8 at noon.
We encourage you to consider nominating yourself or a colleague. Serving on Council allows you to draw on your professional expertise to make contributions that reflect the interests of the public and help maintain trust in the profession.
