Hearings

Hearing dates are posted as they are confirmed and are subject to being rescheduled or cancelled. 

The Regulated Health Professions Act (122(5) and 123 (1)) prohibits the reporting of anything which may identify a registrant charged (including the name, name of clinic or partnership, location of practice, etc.) unless and until the Panel makes a finding against the registrant. If the Panel orders, a complainant or any witness may only be identified by initials. 

Upcoming Hearing 

A Panel of the Inquiry Committee of CPSM will meet March 3-21, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., at CPSM offices, 1000-1661 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, for the purpose of convening and conducting a hearing in accordance with Part 8 of the RHPA. The hearing is to determine whether a registrant of CPSM, in the course of their practice of medicine and by their conduct as particularized in a Notice of Inquiry, individually or cumulatively:

  1. is guilty of professional misconduct;
  2. contravened CPSM By-laws, the Standards of Practice of Medicine, practice directions, and/or the Code of Ethics;
  3. displayed a lack of skill, knowledge, or judgment in the practice of medicine; and/or
  4. demonstrated an incapacity or unfitness to practice medicine.

 About Hearings 

All hearings are open to the public unless the Inquiry Panel orders that all or part of the hearing be held in private. The Panel may find that the allegations against the registrant have not been proven. If all or some of the allegations are proven, a registrant may be reprimanded, subject to a period of suspension, cancellation of licence, terms and conditions imposed, and may be assessed costs of the investigation/inquiry.
