In the event of an emergency under Section 13.1 of The Medical Act, and where there is a need identified by the Minister of Health for services of physicians from outside the province, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba may waive the usual requirements for registration.

Physicians authorized to practise medicine in another jurisdiction in Canada or the United States may be eligible for Emergency Registration in Manitoba.

Emergency Registration is intended to be in place only during a period of the emergency in Manitoba.  Physicians granted Emergency Registration wishing to practise in Manitoba following the revocation of the emergency will be required to meet the College’s usual requirements for Full, Conditional or Temporary registration.

The  College may not be able to accept for Emergency Registration physicians who have a requirement for supervision or conditions which limit their practice in their current jurisdiction.  In such cases, eligibility will be subject to review and approval of the Registrar.
